What makes English vocabulary tricky
English has an enormous vocabulary and a fondness for phrasal verbs (give up, look after, put off) whose meaning you can’t guess from the parts. Collocations (make a decision, not do a decision) and irregular forms add more that has to be learned as used. That’s why in-context, spaced practice suits English so well.
