How It Works
10 Words is built around one idea: learn a few words at a time, in real sentences, and review them at exactly the right moment so they stick.
Spaced Repetition, Backed by Science
10 Words uses FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler) — a smart, open-source method for helping you remember words.
Here's the idea: every word you learn starts to fade from memory over time. FSRS keeps track of that, and shows you each word right when you're about to forget it — not too early, not too late.
Where Our Sentences Come From
Many of the sentences and translations in 10 Words come from Tatoeba (tatoeba.org), a free database of example sentences built by volunteers. Tatoeba's sentence data is released under the Creative Commons Attribution license (CC-BY 2.0 FR).
Quality & Reporting
We filter sentences carefully to remove errors and low-quality content. Even so, with a database this large, occasional errors can slip through.
