What makes German vocabulary tricky
To really know a German word you need more than its meaning: nouns come with a gender (der/die/das) and a plural, verbs govern particular cases, and separable prefixes wander to the end of the sentence. Compound words like Handschuh (“glove”) reward you for learning parts in context. Seeing each word inside a sentence is the natural way to absorb all of that at once.
